Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 25, 2026

Breakpoint Zone ("Breakpoint Zone," "we," "us") provides live tennis scores, stats, and rankings through the website at breakpoint.zone and through the Breakpoint Zone Chrome extension. This policy covers both.

The short version

Breakpoint Zone doesn't have user accounts, logins, or profiles. We don't collect names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally-identifying information — because we never ask for any. The only "identity" the product ever handles is a payment card number during an optional donation, and that goes straight to Stripe's own hosted checkout page; it never reaches Breakpoint Zone's code or servers.

Information we collect

We do not collect or store personal information. Below is exactly what data moves, where it goes, and why.

DataSent toPurposeWhen
Match, player, and ranking queries (date, tour, and player ID filters — no user data attached)api-tennis.com, via Breakpoint Zone's own server-side proxyLive scores, stats, rankings, and head-to-head recordsAutomatically, while the app is open
Tournament host city nameSerpAPI (Google Search results), via Breakpoint Zone's serverLooks up current weather for that tournamentAutomatically, when a tournament is shown
Tournament name (no user data)SerpAPI, then OpenAI, via Breakpoint Zone's serverGenerates the AI tournament-facts profileOnly when you tap "Request profile" / "Refresh data"
Donation amount and payment detailsStripeProcesses an optional donation — card details never reach Breakpoint Zone's own serversOnly if you choose to donate (website only)
Anonymous product analytics (page views, feature usage — no user data)Google Analytics (GA4)Understanding feature usage, on the websiteAutomatically, on breakpoint.zone only — not in the Chrome extension, which doesn’t load any analytics script

We never combine any of the above with an identity, because there is no account or identity to combine it with.

Local device storage

The app caches a small amount of data on your device, using your browser's localStorage, purely to make the app feel faster — for example, recently-viewed rankings or a preferred view setting. This data never leaves your device and contains no personal information.

Server-side storage

Breakpoint Zone's own backend (Supabase) caches two kinds of content so repeated requests don't re-trigger paid API calls: AI-generated tournament-facts profiles, and weather lookups. Both are keyed by tournament name or city — never by user — so nothing user-identifying is stored server-side.

The Chrome extension specifically

The Breakpoint Zone Chrome extension is the same product as the website, opened as a persistent browser side panel instead of a tab. It requests two things:

  • sidePanel — a Chrome UI permission that lets the extension render as a side panel rather than a popup or full tab. It doesn't grant access to any data.
  • host_permissions for breakpoint.zone — required because an extension page has no "home" website to fetch data from the normal way. This lets the extension talk to Breakpoint Zone's own API — the same one the website itself uses — to load scores, stats, and rankings. It's scoped narrowly to breakpoint.zone only.

The extension does not load Google Analytics (blocked by its security policy), and donations open breakpoint.zone in a new tab rather than embedding a payment flow. Everything else — live scores, stats, head-to-head, rankings, and AI Facts — works exactly as described above.

Children's privacy

Breakpoint Zone is a general-audience sports scores product. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because we don't collect personal information from anyone, period.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the revised version at this same URL.
